There is no doubt that Covid-19 has reshaped and refreshed the way we all operate. These days no matter where you are or what you do, we are all still under some sort of restrictions and most of us spend our days trying to live life under the new norm of social distancing and sanitising.
Well rewind seven days and I found myself in this very place. I was tired, stressed, upset and exhausted. I felt like I was trapped and needed something to help me relax and break free. I needed that feeling of leaving troubles behind and embracing whatever was coming next. Fortunately enough the long weekend was about to begin so that’s where I started. It was quite simple actually – I decided to go for a walk.
Now walking – power walking – is something I’ve always loved. I can push myself, it helps with fitness, but ultimately I don’t feel like dying because I can’t breathe and my back doesn’t get destroyed. So I grabbed my headphones, bag and began my Friday afternoon walk while watching the sun go down, listening to my favourite tunes.
Boy was it AMAZING! As soon as I turned on the music I instantly felt as though I was in a musical. I almost couldn’t stop myself from singing and dancing along! At first I felt really embarrassed because what if someone saw me? They would totally know who I was and I would be the ‘weird dancing woman!’ Then I realised – WHO CARES!!!!! That the feeling of dancing to the music I love and acting like I was literally in a musical was a MILLION times better than feeling embarrassed.
So with that said I JUST LET GO!
It was the best thing I’ve ever done and I can’t encourage you enough to give it a go! Don’t be afraid of what someone might think for a fleeting second as they drive by – BE BOLD! Don’t stop these wonderful and magical moments. Be fearless, live life to the fullest and let that release and refresh happen.
